Easily organize your ingredients and recipes with tags like Keto, Vegan, or Non-GMO, or create custom ones to suit your needs. Tags make it easy to find, sort, and manage your items efficiently.

What Are Recipe Tags?

Recipe tags help you categorize and describe your recipes for better organization and quick access. There are two types:

  • Automatic Tags – Generated based on the ingredients in your recipe. For example, if all ingredients are labeled "Non-GMO," the recipe will automatically display that tag.

  • Custom Tags – Created manually to give you full control over how your recipes are labeled.

How to Add a Custom Recipe Tag

  1. Open the recipe view in Food Label Maker.

  2. Click the Custom Tags button to open the custom tags menu.

  3. In the dropdown menu that appears, scroll to the bottom.

  4. Click Add New Tag to create and name your custom tag. Once you’ve created a custom tag, you can add it to a recipe:

  5. Open the Recipe Builder in Food Label Maker.

  6. Locate the Add Tags button directly under the recipe name.

  7. Click Add Tags and select the desired tag from the list. If you want to create a new tag at this stage, choose Add New Tag and follow the prompts to name and save it.

  8. Save your changes to attach the tag to the recipe. This allows you to filter or search for recipes using the tag later.

Your custom tag is now applied, making your recipe easier to find and categorize. This allows you to filter or search for recipes using the tag later.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • Can’t find the Add New Tag option? Ensure you’ve scrolled to the bottom of the dropdown menu in the custom tags section.

  • Tag not saving? Double-check that you’ve clicked the Save button after creating or adding the tag.

What Are Ingredient Tags?

Ingredient tags let you highlight specific characteristics or health benefits of an ingredient, such as “Rich in Vitamin C” or “Source of Antioxidants.” These tags ensure key nutritional information is clear and accessible when creating labels.

How to Add Ingredient Tags

  1. Enter Ingredient Details: Add the ingredient’s basic information and nutritional data.

  2. Go to the Ingredient Tag Section: Locate the tagging area in the ingredient settings.

  3. Select or Add Tags:

    • Choose from predefined tags like “Organic” or “Gluten-Free.”

    • Manually add custom tags to highlight unique properties.

  4. Save Your Changes: Once added, the tags will be linked to your ingredient.
