Using Manual Override for Nutrition Facts Labels

Take full control of your nutrition label by manually editing values, servings, and %DV.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The Manual Override feature allows you to edit your nutrition label freely — giving you full control over values, serving sizes, and % Daily Values (%DV) without relying on automatic calculations.

This feature requires a Business or Enterprise subscription plan and is only available for FDA format. We are working on adding the feature to the CFIA label soon.

✨ When to Use Manual Override

  • You have lab analysis results you want to reflect.

  • You’ve already calculated nutrient values outside the platform.

  • You want to make precise edits to meet regulatory or marketing needs.- You need to adjust 'Added Sugar' to display as 0% on your label.

🛠 How to Use It

  1. Go to your recipe and click on Customize Label.

  2. Select Manual Label Override from the options.

  3. Edit any field directly — including calories, nutrient values, serving sizes, and %DV.

  4. Once you’re done, click Save to apply your changes.5. To update specific nutrients, such as sugar content, locate the desired field and input accurate values reflecting your recipe’s requirements.

⚠️ Note: When using manual override, your label will no longer reflect updates from the recipe builder. Be sure the values you input are accurate and compliant.Additionally, select standardized entries from the database, such as 'Sugar, Cane USDA Verified,' for reliable and compliant nutritional values.

Additionally, the Manual Override feature is only supported for FDA and CFIA labels (in future). Users with a Pro membership need to upgrade to Business or Enterprise subscription plans to access this functionality.
